Motspur Park 6-2 Wandgas Worcester Park
Motspur Park produced a stunning performance to defeat Wandgas Worcester Park 6-2 and secure their place in the quarter-finals of the League Cup. This victory marks the second time Motspur Park has knocked out a team from a higher division in the competition. It also maintains Motspur Park’s 100% home record.
The match started at a frantic pace, with Motspur Park taking the lead within two minutes through Aiman. However, Wandgas Worcester Park responded with two quick goals of their own to take the lead.
Undeterred, Motspur Park fought back, and Aiman scored two more goals before half-time to put his side 3-2 ahead.
The second half was even more action-packed, with Workman extending Motspur Park’s lead to 4-2 before Aiman scored his 4th with a clinical finish to make it 5-2.
Rampton rounded off the scoring with a late goal to seal a memorable victory for Motspur Park.
The match was marred by a number of yellow cards and two nasty injuries for Motspur Park, with Josh Neill suffering a particularly serious knock.
Despite the injuries, Motspur Park will be delighted to have progressed to the quarter-finals of the League Cup. The team will now await the draw for the next round, where they will face another tough challenge from a team from a higher division.
